More on the Newton, please

I know we referred to the Newton earlier.  But let’s face it, comparisons (though unfair) are inevitable when it comes to The Greatest Device Ever Created.® Gizmodo’s Tom Hormby has written a very detailed and totally compelling History Of The Newton. Well worth clicking here. PS- want to show some pure geek love to a Newton?

Guess it, win it

Gizmodo’s got a contest where you can win an iSlate.  Or whatever it’s called. Anyway, go here.  Fill it out, and closest match wins one.

Defcon 4 with 8 days to go

You thought the iSlate speculation was bad before?  Stand by for Defcon 1.  Or whatever.  Of course, this thing does not exist. Apple has never commented. (What fun would that be?  Saying nothing only increases the hysteria.  Apple knows this. Marketer par excellance.) So this article here says they’re gonna call it the iPad. Who really knows?  I can think of one person.

Big event on the 27th

Apple’s got a big hoo-ha set for January 27th.  And the other leader of the free world, President Obama, is drafting off Dear Leader’s fame to do some kinda press conference, a “State of the Union” or whatever. Same date. Can you believe the guy?

Egg freckles?

With The Greatest Device Ever Created looming on the horizon, let’s look back on one that didn’t quite work out. We just weren’t…ready.

Nice logo on the stationery

Looks nice and clean, a simple “O,” kinda reminds me of Apple.  Which it should. Check the letter below from the law firm of  Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. And here I thought “Orrick” was a vacuum, but the spelling was off.  Anyway, what’s all this hoo-ha about?  The Valleywag call for tangible proof of the iSlate, that’s what.  Michael Spillner doesn’t like it, and wants it to go away.  More here.

Valleywag has cash- do you have the iSlate?

That bastion of Valley journalistic credibility is offering a lot of cash if you’ve got photos of the real iSlate.  If you’ll let ’em play with one for an hour, that’s gonna be 100K in your checking account.  Click here, and don’t let Moshe know.

Apple hoarding 10″ screens?

This article indicates that all 10″ screens available from Asia manufacturing centers are being bought up by Apple.  Wonder why?
