To be fair, according to article here, all reading at close range, whether a dead tree book or magazine, a TV in a darkened room, iPhones, Amazon Kindle, Lenovo notebook or a 27″ iMac will increase eyestrain and eventual nearsightedness. It’s the price we pay for engaging our brains. Will the iPad do this, too? Well, if we engage with it as much as Stephen Fry has apparently done with his device (I understand they were spotted at the jeweler’s trying out engagement rings), best to give in and consider the cost owning an iPad that ophthalmologist appointment every six months, and upgrading those current cheaters to bi- or tri-focals.
