Circling down the drains

Bezos literally freaked out on iPad introduction day. His whole executive sales force was cold calling publishers to strike long term deals for its Kindles as Jobs was up on stage weaving the magic that is the iPad. But to no avail. Apple had already contacted ninety-nine percent of the publishing world and had just about everybody in its back pocket. Amazon and B&N is about to learn the meaning of being left out in the cold. If things get really bad, Amazon can always merge with ebay, but what of Barnes & Noble?
