R.I.P. Tony Clarke (1941-2010)

Moody Blues producer (1966-1979) Tony Clarke

Tony Clarke, British musician and producer, nay, creator of Moody Blues sound, passed away on Monday, Jan 4, 2010. After an abortive attempt with the Moodies to record a rock’n’roll version of Dvorak’s New World Symphony as a demonstration record for Decca’s new stereo recording process, Tony Clarke adapted The Moodies conceptual cabaret act into the symphonic rock’n’roll classic, Days Of Future Passed and thus began one of the more fruitful collaborations of the nineteen-sixties and -seventies.
