AC was the first reporter “on the ground” in Haiti (Networks like to trumpet that fact, their guy was first) and continues to report live, along with the rest of the US media horde. Has to be tough to report on this issue, keeping a cool demeanor while reporting live on the incredible tragedy. One thing occurred to me tonight in watching The Coop on CNN. (With Sanjay Gupta, that’d be Coop & Gup, eh?)
What brand T-shirt does he wear?
I’m betting Abercrombie & Fitch. I know reporters keep “go bags” in their office or house, ready to jet into the “hot zone” at a moment’s Tweet. So I bet he has a bag stocked full with freshly-pressed A&F. Now, each morning before he puts one on, it gets meticulously dragged thru a light coating of dust, and spritzed with Evian, to get that “battle-worn” look. Maybe LL Bean ’cause that’s an East Coast preppie thing. Patagonia and North Face, too showy. Logos too prominent. Yep, A&F, no doubt. And certainly no CNN-logo wear; too obvious.
With a little bit of khaki tossed in, could we be seeing a real-life version of Roland Burton Hedley? That remains to be seen. (Classic standup outro, leaves a lot of ambiguity.)
