It might come now, or it might be later. But look at the facts. As this article says, Mozilla’s bottom line is greatly impacted by revenue from Google. Like, almost all of it. Now, Google’s Chrome browser has added extensions, clearly stepping on Firefox’s turf. And here, a Mozilla exec urges Firefox users to ditch Google in favor of…Bing. Mozilla’s Google deal is scheduled to expire in November, 2011. If Mozilla loses the revenue stream from Google, where would they turn? To Microsoft, who they’re killing in browser share? Unlikely.
