We’re trying something new here — a companion site called Rabid Fanboy where two longtime friends of the blog, Brinke and Lastangelman, are posting whatever they find that’s interesting to them. Think of it as an experiment in citizen journalism, or community aggregation, or whatever. The idea is, rabid fanboys want to share with each other and dish on stuff that they find on all those other blogs. Plus, before this these guys were just sending me a zillion links a day and finally I was like, Dude, why don’t we just find a way for you to post them yourselves.
You’ll notice on the FSJ homepage, in the right sidebar, a new box called Rabid Fanboy that contains headlines fed in from the Rabid Fanboy homepage. Things are still a little bit hinky but we’re getting there. Click on a link and you’ll get pulled over to the item on Rabid Fanboy. Soon (like, by tonight) we should have it set up so that when you click on the Rabid Fanboy title bar you’ll get pulled to the homepage of Rabid Fanboy.
Also: If you or someone you know would like to become a Rabid Fanboy, get in touch. The more voices, the merrier. Until there are too many, at which point the whole experiment collapses under its own weight. Probably we can stop before we get there.
Also: Many apologies for recent glitches, particularly with the Feedburner feed. As you may or may not have noticed, we recently made a long-overdue leap from Blogger to WordPress. It gives us a lot more flexibility but as with any transition (cough, Snow Leopard, cough) there have been some bumps in the road. I’ve had a few pissed off emails from people upset because their feed broke. If that’s happened to you, just try re-subscribing and it should work fine. If that still doesn’t work, send me an email at fsjblog@gmail.com and we will get you sorted out.
Also: We are hoping to bring on some more sponsors in the near future. If you or someone you know controls a massive advertising budget and wants to put your brand out in front of an audience of really smart nerds, please get in touch.
