Because you put friggin kill switches in your software. But then you’re so frigtarded that you do it wrong and the kill switches start messing up legitimate users. So now you’re backing off that tactic and instead of a kill switch that shuts things down you’ll just use pop-ups or something to bug the shit out of people that you think are using bogus copies. Jesus! Let it go already, would you? Using your software is punishment enough. You don’t need to add extra aggravation on top of that.
